Are you looking for a way to nurture your spirit and improve your community? Do you have skills that would help our ministries run more smoothly?
Community Ministries is how Live Oak UU Church grows programs that make a difference in people’s lives. It is a portal through which you can grow in spirit by connecting with others of similar interests and and pointing that connection toward the community. Our minister and staff give leadership to the ministries but the programs thrive because of the talent and dedication of people who volunteer their time and energy to lead each activity listed below.
Community Ministries consists of two branches: Community Service and Social Justice Ministry.
Community Service supports:
- our food distribution program (Fresh Food for All) and
- our literacy programs (Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language).
Social Justice Ministry supports:
- Voting Rights Team
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team
- Share the Plate Team
- Reproductive Freedom
You can find out more about these programs in the links, including how to contact members of each team.
Hope you can join us!
