Live Oak UU Church’s Nursery is open 9:45 am till 12:30 pm. Our nursery offers a caring and spacious environment with toys, books & crafts. We also have a tree shaded playground we use depending on weather and the children’s interest. The nursery is staffed with care providers who offer a warm and welcoming presence. All our childcare staff are background checked and trained caregivers.

Our Sunday service runs from 10:00-11:00 am and is followed by fellowship (coffee & conversation) and Faith Development classes, 11:15-12:15.

Our nursery is located on the ground floor in room 109.

For The Little Ones

Very young children need security and loving attention. Play is their work. At this age, the foundation of their spiritual development is building the trust that their needs will be met by compassionate adults who care about them.

If you choose to sign your children into the nursery, please provide the necessary supplies and instructions to change and/or feed your little one.  Be sure to let the childcare providers know if your child has any special dietary needs or concerns and any specific instructions regarding the circumstances under which you would like to be called from the service. If you choose, you may leave your cell phone number so we can page you (cell phones on vibrate only, please), or someone can come to find you as needed.

Please know that babies and children are always welcome in the sanctuary during our worship service. Not everyone is comfortable sitting still for the length of a sermon, and we have resources for that. For all ages, including adults, we have “fidget items” in the narthex that can be taken into the sanctuary. Maybe you or your child would like to doodle on a whiteboard, trace a labyrinth, or color pictures. (If you knit, feel free to bring in your latest project!) We also have two rooms at the back of the sanctuary with a clear glass window and sound piped in – one for “wiggly” kids who can play on the floor, and the other is a “calm” room for the ones who need it quieter or with less stimulation.
