This past Sunday, we had our quarterly “Fed & Informed” potluck. Great food and great information was shared by all. And it was great to just have the chance to be together, you know? To eat together, chat, and catch up. We want to make more opportunities for connecting with each other, and here are some of the ways:
Deep Thought– On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6-7 pm the “Deep Thought” discussion group will meet in the Library. The discussion group will start with a primer (video, article, etc..) intended to stimulate thoughts about life, the universe, and everything. The group will delve into the subject while challenging our belief systems of truth. Included are discussions about human advances in science, morality, philosophy and/or spiritualism. Child care will be available.
Work from Church Fridays – On Fridays, the church will be open to individuals who want to work from church. The intention is to provide a space for “remote workers” who would benefit from contact with other individuals. Work from church will be set up like an “open office” in Room 105, with the ability to do private conference calls in other available rooms, and WiFi available to those working. Members attending will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves, and should be respectful to others using the building. Also having lunch together, or “water cooler” talks are encouraged! If you do not have a job, but need a place for community while working, feel free to join!
Happy Hour Fridays – On the 2nd Sunday of the month on Friday from 5-7 pm, LOUU will be doing a Happy Hour by the kitchen in the Narthex. This is an informal Happy Hour, bring your own snacks and beverages (including alcohol). All participants will be asked to clean up at the end of the event. If child care is needed please contact dlfd@liveoakuu.org.
