It’s time to register to head back to the beautiful Texas Hill Country! We are so excited to invite each and every one of you to the Live Oak UU 2026 All-Church Retreat from September 25-27, 2026.

Whether you are looking for high-energy outdoor fun or a quiet place to sit and breathe, this weekend is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Come join us for a weekend of:

• Fellowship and fun with old friends and new faces.

• Rest and reinvigoration for your spirit.

• Faith and fresh air under the big Texas sky.

The Details at a Glance

• Where: UBarU Camp and Retreat Center (near Kerrville, TX)—a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Live Oak.

• When: Check-in begins on Friday, September 25 at 3:00 PM.

• Comfort: Don't worry about the Texas heat! The Meeting House, cabins, and indoor rooms are all fully air-conditioned.

• Getting There: Want to share the ride or help someone else get there? Carpools will be available.

• A Gentle Reminder: To ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable, please leave your furry friends at home (no pets, please).

What's New This Year!

We took your wonderful feedback from last year to make this retreat even more fun and accommodating for everyone:

• More pool hours with certified lifeguards on duty.

• Staffed childcare on Saturday to give parents a much-needed breather while the kiddos have a blast doing their own thing.

• Archery and extra outdoor games for the adventurous at heart.

• Registration Payment Option: Upon confirmation of space availability, you may choose to pay the full registration due or make a $100 deposit with the balance due September 1. Full refunds available until Sept. 1.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Whether you want to fill your schedule with activities or just enjoy a quiet afternoon on a porch (or napping), the choice is entirely yours. Our community-led activities include:

• Nature & Movement: Guided hikes, yoga, swimming, and nature exploration.

• Creativity & Connection: Arts & crafts, photography, labyrinth walks, and plenty of casual porch sitting.

• Music & Spirit: A Star Party at the observatory, a drum circle, sing-alongs, and a cozy campfire (fingers crossed for no local burn bans!).

To top it all off, Rev. Joanna Crawford will lead us in a beautiful Collaborative Sunday Worship Service to close our weekend together.

Our Community, Our Retreat: Because this is a true community-led event, everyone who attends is asked to pitch in as a volunteer in some capacity. There are tons of ways to help out based on your unique skills, comfort level, and abilities. What gifts will you share?

Lodging & Pricing Options

We know prices everywhere are creeping up, so we have worked incredibly hard to keep costs down and organize fundraising to support our members with scholarships.

What's Included: All overnight options include three delicious meals on Saturday, Sunday breakfast, and a shared Nosh Table on Friday evening (though you are also welcome to bring your own Friday dinner). UBarU does a spectacular job catering to almost every dietary requirement—just let us know what you need when you sign up!

The Kid Discount: Little ones ages 4 and under stay completely free, and kids ages 5–14 are just $40 across all UBarU lodging options! (Please register youth ages 15+ as adults).

Scholarships are Available: Financial constraints should never keep you away from our community. We offer confidential scholarships of 25%, 50%, or 100% based on need. Simply check the box on the registration form—no qualifying or embarrassing questions asked.
