Live Oak Art GalleryUpdatesOctober 2005Art Gallery ReportThe Photographer’s Journey – the current art gallery exhibit – has been a huge success! As a team, we learned so much about how to manage an art gallery and how art can unite strangers into a community. The Photographer’s Journey will run through November. Most of the photos are available for purchase; see the information cards for details. A portion of the proceeds from sales benefit the church. Thanks to all the photographers for their unique and wonderful contributions! September 2005The Photographer’s Journey OpensThe first show in our new Art Gallery will open on September 10. Snacks and drinks will be served from 6:30-7:30 pm, with the official Grand Opening scheduled from 7:10-7:25. That will be followed at 7:30 by a showing of Torch Song Trilogy, part of the Welcoming Congregation workshops, which will in turn be followed at 9:30 pm by a discussion of the film. The pictures are to be hung on September 7, starting at 6:30 pm. Exhibitors need to be there at that time with their work. Should an exhibitor have a conflict, please contact one of the Art Gallery team listed below. If you have not yet submitted a picture for the exhibit, there is still time. The work needs to be professionally presented (framed or mounted) and must be appropriate for all ages. Please contact anyone on the Art Gallery Team: John Phelps (johnphelps@austin.rr.com, 733-0561), Nisa Sharma (zoikesmom@sbcglobal.net), or Karen Mustard (loserparents@austin.rr.com).
