How do you know what is happening at Live Oak? Well one way, that we emphasize every Sunday, is to subscribe to the weekly newsletter — and read it. We haven’t yet figured out how to download information directly into our brains but when we do, I’ll be at the front of the line. Until then, we have to do it old school by reading.
Once a quarter, though, we go one better. We have our quarterly “Fed & Informed” potluck. Everyone brings a dish to share, we load up our plates with all that deliciousness, and then the leader of each team in the church talks about what they’ll be doing over the next 3 months. It’s even better than the newsletter because right in the moment, you can ask questions. Or if you want to discuss some ideas, you can grab the leader afterward.
And there’s something about the potluck itself that always warms my heart. Gathering to break bread is just such an ancient tradition, you know? And I don’t know about you, but for me, food that someone else has made just always tastes the best.
See you Sunday at noon!
