Top Ten Reasons We Like Chuck
Reason 10 -Chuck comes to services even when he isn't preaching. This sounds trivial,
but it makes us feel he really likes being part of our community.
Reason 9 - He is plugged in. He seems to know every interesting religious figure and
musician in Austin.
Reason 8 - He makes us feel welcomed. We always feel he is genuinely happy to see us
on Sunday.
Reason 7 - Chuck likes kids. He even voluntarily went to a youth rally...brave soul.
Reason 6 - Chuck believes in consensus. He doesn't even understand why ALL ministers
don't like consensus.
Reason 5 - Chuck is very spiritual and makes us feel like we're part of a spiritual
community.
Reason 4 - Chuck opens up and shares things that are real. He is not afraid of being
vulnerable.
Reason 3 - Chuck makes us cry. We love being in a church where people cry.
Reason 2 - Chuck makes us laugh. We love being in a church where people laugh.
And the Number 1 Reason We Like Chuck: Chuck is Chuck. He is the same person whether
he is in the pulpit, having lunch, or driving to a youth rally. He is a counselor and a
friend. No personas, no roles, just Chuck being Chuck. A bit silly, a bit serious, a bit
reverential, but always Chuck.
