SPIRITUAL PRESENCE IN RELATIONSHIP: How, now
and why
Jim Maxwell, LPC, Facilitator
Tuesday, October 17, 2006
This class will focus on how having a spiritual practice helps you have a more
satisfying relationship. The spiritual practice for this class will be based on
the Buddhist saying: "All things that take form must dissolve again, make peace
with that and all will be well." The discussion points will develop out of
insights about how a spiritual practice can provide the following: a grander
purpose for your relationship than just getting immediate needs met; reframing
relationship dynamics from pathology to spiritual challenge; develop skills,
resources and reasons to manage your emotional reactivity; provide you with
accountability for your actions; create a more compassionate view of your
partner; provide you with an unbiased ally; help you keep your focus on the now.
The class will include group discussion and role play.
