Roles and Responsibilities Committee

October 2005: A group of 17 Live Oakers reconstituted the Roles and Responsibilities Committee on Tuesday, September 20. The group elected Janet Van Sickler and Greg Sedlock as new co-chairs of the Committee and Ann McCracken as Secretary. Daniel Kaulfus started out the meeting providing background on prior work that the Committee completed. The new Committee will use this work as input for moving forward. Thanks to Daniel and all of the folks who worked with him in this preparation. The purpose of the committee is to define the roles and responsibilities of the numerous entities (committees, groups, departments, staff, and ministers) of the church in order to keep the policy manual up to date. This is no small task!

For the next several months, the Committee will meet on roughly a twice-monthly basis to build momentum and then shift to a monthly meeting. Ann will be preparing meeting minutes and will make them available on the liveoakuu-business email list.

The discussion of the first few meetings will be on the current entities so as to build an understanding of what exists now and to identify any overlaps or gaps. The next meeting will be on Thursday, September 29. The topic will be current committees and their responsibilities.

Each committee chair will be receiving a request for information about their whos, whats, whens, and wheres, and the purpose and goals of their committee.
