Religious Education:
RE Council
Structure
The RE Education Council structure resembles a wheel. The program coordinator is the
hub and has the primary responsibility of keeping everything going and synchronized. Each
area of responsibility is like a spoke on the wheel, that has a "Spokesperson"
(Coordinator) as well as committee members. The all-encompassing wheel reminds us that it
takes all of us to make the program work. The structure gets a large number of people
involved in running the program, helps us clarify who is doing what, and enables clear
communication.
Philosophy
The Life Span Religious Education program at Live Oak is a vital part of our church
community. Here is where we offer the classes and opportunities to pursue our individual
spiritual paths with the support and camaraderie of others. Since it is vital to each of
us, it is equally important that we all take ownership of the program. Everyone interested
in RE is invited to participate in the RE Council and RE committees. The following people
have made a commitment to regularly attend the monthly RE council meeting to communicate
the work of their area of responsibility. Please join us at the council meetings or
contact one of the coordinators below to participate in the committees:
