Church of the Larger Fellowship:  Winter 2007 Online Courses Available at the Church of the Larger Fellowship -

Passing it On: Preserving the Legacy of Your Life Experience. Taught by the Reverend Colleen McDonald. Begins January 8, 2007. What do we hope to pass on to our loved ones at the conclusion of our lives? More exceptional and significant than any “worldly goods” we have acquired is the life experience and wisdom we have accumulated and the hopes we have for the generations that will follow us. This course will provide tools for writing an ethical will (different from the common, legal will that disposes of property), a personal document which will preserve for your family the legacy of your unique life learnings. No previous writing experience is necessary, but participants must be willing to participate actively and to help create a supportive, non-critical environment for sharing. People of all ages are welcome and encouraged. $40.

Walking the Tightrope: The Art of Balance Living. Taught by the Rev. Maureen Killoran. Starts January 15, 2007. We’re asked to do it all the time – keep our balance in the midst of challenge and change. At the same time, we’re pulled by a dozen different demands, and “balanced living” is often the first thing we postpone. In this course, you will learn a simple tool to look at your own life in terms of eight dimensions of balance. After becoming more clear about your personal strengths and values, you will create at least one plan to move toward your vision of balanced living. $40.

Healthy Families – A Systems Approach. Taught by Rev. Kenneth Gordon Hurto. Starts February 5, 2007. This course applies family theory to church and organizational leadership. All participants will apply the theory learned in Healthy Families – A Systems Approach to an extended system of relationships (church or other work setting) of which they are a member and develop a working model for their own leadership. Particularly recommended for ministers and directors of religious education, this class is also likely to be of interest to anyone in a leadership position in a UU church or anyone who would like to apply systems theory to leadership in a work or volunteer environment. $40.

For more information about these courses and more, contact Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF) (617-948- 6150, re@clfuu.org , www.clfuu.org ). All proceeds support the many ministries of the CLF.

Call for Adult Curriculum Authors - The UUA is seeking authors this winter for three faith development programs for adults.

Different Beliefs, One Faith: We have diverse theologies, but are we truly theologically welcoming? This program explores UU’s diverse theological perspectives, encouraging not only understanding but also respect across theological lines within our congregations.

Unitarian Universalist Moral Values: Explores values, ethics, morality, and decision making from a UU perspective, helping participants integrate faith and action in their public and private lives. The Theological Ties that Bind: Includes process theology, liberation theology, feminist/womanist theology, religious humanism, and other ways of meaning making in the liberal tradition. Qualified applicants will have strong backgrounds in writing, teaching, and Unitarian Universalism. Writing takes place in spring and summer 2007. Apply by January 15, 2007. Visit http://uua.org/re/other/tapestry.html . or contact Adult Programs Director Rev. Sarah Gibb Millspaugh for information (949-916-5661, smillspaugh@uua.org ).

The training will be in July 2007 in Boston. To request more information, precise dates, and an application, contact curriculum assistant Rachael Brown (617- 948-6454, rbrown@uua.org ).
