Generosity Season Begins at Live OakMary Pritchard’s wonderful testimonial on September 23 about why she enjoys attending Live Oak launched our annual fundraising drive. Thank you, Mary, for sharing your thoughts about how much Live Oak means to you! During the next few Sundays, several other Live Oak members will be sharing more testimonials about the role Live Oak plays in their spiritual lives. Your Stewardship Committee wants you to know our plans for the next few weeks so that we all know what to expect and can share a pleasant time together. First, please mark you calendars for Sunday, October 21. Join us at Live Oak for lots of fun, fellowship, and friendship. In about two weeks you should receive an invitation to our Sunday service and the Generosity Luncheon scheduled for that day after the service. Expect lots of delicious food, great entertainment, and salient facts about your church. Please send your RSVP right away so that we can plan for the right number of people. Activities for the children will be available. Second, you will be receiving calls from our Ambassadors who will be confirming your attendance that day. We hope everyone can attend, spend quality time with each other, and see what we can do to make our liberal religious committee a better place next year. We want to make sure that all members are invited and that everyone feels especially welcome for our Generosity Luncheon. And, Third, shortly after that day our Ambassadors will be calling you to set up face-to-face visits. Before the visit you will be mailed information about our finances and plans for next year. Your fellow members will be calling on you as Ambassadors of our church. They will speak to you about the connections you have with our community, about what we are doing well, and where we can improve. They will also discuss church finances and how your continuing generosity allows our community to fulfill our mission through our various ministries. Please take this opportunity to strengthen your connection with Live Oak; please welcome our Ambassadors who have volunteered in this special annual effort. This year’s effort to contact all our members to assess our congregation and discuss our finances is led by Johnfar Kerlee, chair of the Stewardship Committee. If you have questions about the Generosity Sunday, the luncheon, or Stewardship Committee activities, please contact Johnfar (chaselipraxis@yahoo.com) |
