Fellowship CommitteeUpcoming 2007 Events:Dates to Put on Your Calendar
The 2007 Live Oak Halloween Party will be Saturday, October 20. Games and activities for the kids will begin at 5:30 pm in Common Ground, with trick-or-treating through the building beginning at 7:00 pm. Other activities for the kids will include a pumpkin carving contest and a costume contest. Don’t forget to bring your dancin’ shoes, because the kids will be escorted to the sanctuary to watch The Corpse Bride while the bigger kids dance the night away. Of course, we’ll have a costume contest for the adults as well. There will also be a special late-night showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. So put on your best costume, bring the kids, and get set for a great time, courtesy of your Live Oak Fellowship Team. For more information, contact Jeff VanMeter (jlanvan@yahoo.com) or find the man in black after the Sunday services. It’s that time again ... time to start planning for our Fall Campout!Date: Friday, November 2-Sunday, November 4. Early November is a lovely time of year around here — not hot anymore, but not cold yet. Perfect camping weather! Place: Inks Lake State Park, near Burnet. We’ve had many church campouts here and it’s a very popular place. Distance Away: About 50 miles, about an hour’s drive. Close enough for a day visit if you don’t want to camp overnight. Activities: Lake swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boat rentals, golf, playgrounds, hiking. It’s also a nice place to ride bikes. Reservations: When I have some idea of how many people are interested, I’ll reserve some sites. You can email me to let me know or call me at 257-9236 or 468-4735. It’s not too early to make reservations, as this is one of the most popular state parks and fills up quickly. Call or email me (Jennifer Swan, jenswan@aol.com) with any questions. Other Information: We usually have a potluck on Saturday night, so if you don’t want to camp out you can come for the day and stay for potluck! Sharing of campsites is encouraged!
