Learn about Our Church Facility

Live Oak moved just a little bit down the road, into a much larger facility in 2003. We are excited about it in so many ways--room to fit all our new members, a gorgeous sanctuary that is perfect for services and performances, greatly expanded RE facilities, rental opportunities, a nice playground, land for a memorial garden, labyrinth, etc.

The photo above shows a panoramic view of the property before we took possession. At left is our catchy yellow steeple--you can't miss us! Below is a  photo of the current look of the main building.

2007 FACILITY COMMITTEE NOTES

The Facilities Committee is always looking for people to augment our committee. If you want to help in the care and feeding of the Live Oak campus, contact Scott Claver (sclaver@austin.rr.com), Audrey Jensen (administrator@liveoakuu.org), Katherine Enyart (kkenyart@yahoo.com)  or Lyn Whitcomb (deuxfleurs@sbcglobal.net) . We would really appreciate having more Live Oakers on the committee!

September 2007

The roof is repaired! Mark Franz of Armadillo Contractors came to check during the rain last week and the Fellowship Hall was dry as a bone!

On September 5 at 7:30 pm there will be a Building Use Training. We will begin in the Fellowship Hall. This training is for everyone with keys to the building or if you just want to know how to work everything.

There is a Montessori Day Care starting this month in Rooms 109 and 111. The school is responsible for some of the improvements you see around the church. We have clean carpets in 109, 111, and the hallway outside the rooms, the AC for the DRE office was repaired at no cost to us, the playground fence will be repaired, our prints in the hallway outside the nursery will be framed, and some painting will be done. Please let your friends know about the school starting in mid-September.

We also have a homeschool group called Classical Enrichment Academy. This group will use our facilities on Thursdays through the school year. Please be mindful on that day that there will be about 120 children from grades K-8 using the building. This group is also making improvements to our space. They painted Rooms 212 and 213.

If you have any questions about our Building Use Policy, you may view it here.

This is from Section 6 of the Live Oak UU Building Use Policy:

6. Building Use Agreement

6.1 Any group using the church facilities for non-LOUUC purposes is required to sign the appropriate Building Use Agreement for usage of the building to be authorized.

6.2 Persons signing the Use Agreement must be at least 18 years of age.

6.3 The LOUUC Administrator shall provide the appropriate Agreement and will be responsible for confirming that the Agreement has been signed, all payments made, and that all deposits or properly credited costs retained.

Watch for more from our Building Use Policy next month!
