The Membership Team is an active and involved group of volunteers whose primarily focus is to promote membership and integrate new members into the church. This team coordinates Sunday morning activities such as greeting and welcoming visitors at the Visitors’ Table, as well as answering their questions. In addition, the team:

  • Keeps a current list of Live Oak members,
  • Offers a Path to Membership class three times a year and an “Exploring Membership” group each first Sundays of the month to give prospective members an opportunity to explore whether Live Oak is the right church for them.
  • Holds a New Member Recognition Ceremony as part of our Sunday service three times a year,
  • And hosts New Member Coffees quarterly, to check in with new members.

Interested persons are invited to attend Membership Team meetings or become members of the team. Contact the Membership Team at

At Live Oak, we want people to feel welcome from the very first time they attend a service or other church event. The Greeters welcome visitors and members every Sunday morning and at all special services. They answer questions and help orient visitors to the church. Greeters also help out during the service by taking the offering and looking after the needs of those attending the service. They collect information from visitors who would like to receive more information about the church and keep visitors apprised of activities such as the Path to Membership class, or any other activities that might be of interest.
