"A risk taker, a lyricist of tremendous energy, a vioce worth listening to...it takes guts to write like this," Zassafrass Music News. "Chuck Brosdky can take the everyday aspects of existence and bring them to life much the same way that John Prine, Bob Dylan, and Woody Guthrie could," Good Times (Santa Cruz).

Michael SmithApril 23rd

"According to Sing Out! Magazine Michael Smith stands out as one of the few undisputed geniuses among singer- songwriters. Although Michael rarely toured until the mid 1980's, his songs were carried around the world on the recordings of many folk, country, pop, and bluegrass performers. Michael is probably best known for his song The Dutchman, which was covered by the late great Steve Goodman among others. Other Michael Smith songs like Dead Egyptian Blues, and Hobo s Mandolin have been recorded by a variety of well-known artists including Trout Fishing in America, Cindy Mangsen, and Anne Hills. He has performed at dozens of major folk and music festivals in the United States and Canada, and has been featured in a series of interviews on All Things Considered on National Public Radio. In October 1994, he released a new recording, Time, a collection of thirteen songs.

Tim Henderson is considered by many to be one of the outstanding folk song writers in America. Tom Paxton said that Tim Henderson is my idea of an American songwriter and Peter Yarrow wrote Tim s music takes us on a journey of laughter and whimsy, from wistful poetry to playful exaggeration, all the gift of Tim s magical, masterful muse. His recently released CD, The Wind Knows My Name, is an extraordinary collection spanning 20 years of songwriting. This CD includes Rusty Old Red River," which appears on Toni Price s new CD, and Maria Consuelo which has been recorded by at least 10 other artists.

Darcie Deaville, Michael Veitch, Emily Kaitz As a fiddler, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Darcie's talents have been sought out by people like Peter Rowan, Kelly Willis, Tom Paxton, and the Austin Lounge Lizards. Joining her is a favorite at Live Oak, Emily Kaitz. Michael Smith called her "a bold and personal writer" whose individuality, intelligence and aliveness shine through with every song." Michael Veitch, from New York, has a voice that has been compaired to Matthew Sweet; his sure-handed guitar playing holds its own with the best. Michael's music visits a wide range of topics, from environmental justice, family, religion, and hope, to love lost and love found.
