Betty EldersMay 8th Betty Elders
Benefiting Adoption Knowledge Affiliates

No description can prepare the listener for the richness, subtlety and breadth of Betty Elders' music. It is a marvel of poetic beauty, a testament to human frailty and grandeur, a meditation on the harrowing wonder of existence. The narratives and moods of her songs are as varied as the colors of life they reflect, and her supple voice traverses this vast emotional range with ease and clarity, embodying both great power and an aching vulnerability. Whether by herself or with her favorite accompanists, Betty and her music create an undeniable, unforgettable exchange between her and all who listen. You are invited to come experience the magic!

April 10th Caryl P. Weiss and Mary Reynolds
Benefiting Daughters of the British Empire

Both Mary and Caryl have eclectic musical backgrounds, including classical, folk, jazz, country, and traditional American and Celtic music, plus their own compositions and contemporary favorites. Caryl has played practically any instrument you can think of but now narrows her focus on the guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bass. Mary, a classically-trained vocalist, plays rhythm and lead guitar, electric bass and saxophone. She has gained recognition from her performances with the Therapy Sisters and Emily Kaitz. Mary and Caryl join together with an exquisite blend and an infectious love of music that invites audiences' participation.

Emily KaitzMarch 13th Emily Kaitz
Benefiting Center for Battered Women

Michael Smith called her "a bold and personal writer" whose individuality, intelligence, and aliveness shine through with every song. The Austin American-Statesman described her as "one of Austin's most imaginative songwriters." Musicians like Betty Elders and Trout Fishing in America feel she is an inspiration to them. Trout Fishing's Ezra Idlet said, " Emily Kaitz is a jewel of a songwriter who can turn everyday life into extraordinary art." Jon Ims simply left the chorus of her song "Middle-Aged Rock & Rollers Are So Damn Cute" on his phone answering machine for months. Come listen to one of Austin's most imaginative songwriters.

February 13th Steven Fromholz
Benefiting Planned Parenthood

Steven is an accomplished songwriter, balladeer, actor, and playwright. His songs have been recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, and John Denver, to name a few. His rich baritone combined with his remarkable song-writing abilities and sense of humor appeal to wide audiences. Besides being a successful musician, Steve has acted in numerous stage plays, performed with Esther's Traveling Follies, and co-starred in the film Positive I.D. He co-authored a successful play, Bosque County, Texas. He also serves as a professional guide on white water river trips. The highlight for some is when Steve brings out his guitar and sings. We invite you to come enjoy a true Texas legend.

January 9th Therapy Sisters
Benefiting Out Youth Austin
 Therapy Sisters

For the past decade The Therapy Sisters have set out to demonstrate that music and laughter are the best medicine. This zany and eclectic duo, Lisa Rogers and Maurine McLean, has entertained at clubs and theaters from coast to coast. This year they released their fifth album, Beyond Prescription, featuring jazz, blues, funk, and folk tunes, some of which are based on outrageous news stories. The Therapy Sisters aim to inspire you to laugh and think about the age we live in, and to remember that if you're not part of the problem, you're not part of the family.
