 LOOP CUUPS Activities

Here are brief summaries of some of the LOOP CUUPS activities in the past!

 2004

  • On April 13 we brought  our various divination tools (Tarot decks, runes, etc.) and discussed divination, as well as offering readings to each other and any one else who wanted to attend.

  • On March 9, members and several guest enjoyed talking with our guest speaker Victoria Sullivan Hendricks. On March 23 a smaller group celebrated Ostara, the first spring fertility Sabbat.
  • In January  2004 we got ready for our church labyrinth by walking a canvas labyrinth set up in the Fellowship room at the church. Click on the image at right to see an enlarged view.
  • YULE FEST: The Second Annual Yule Fest, benefiting CUUPs and the Wednesday morning Women’s Spirituality Group, was December 6 and 7, 2003 at the church.  We sold lots of yummy baked goods, gorgeous jewelry, warm and decorative knitted items, and other hand-made crafts, and Tarot readings and body work will also be available. Palm readings were available on Sunday only. There was also custom gift wrapping. We had a wonderful time and really generated a lot of funds! Thanks to all who participated.

2003

  • 2003 is fine. We keep meeting and doing things but don't have time to work on the Web pages. We are getting a new one soon.

2002

  • 2002 has been going great! Our January meeting was a beautiful tribute to Kwan Yin, and in February we learned all about runes and had a Norse feast. MMMM. Pickled herring. Other highlights include a swell house cleansing in early June and our tarot party that month. We had a great Samhain ritual in a private home, and have had some wonderful new members join us lately! Thanks.

2001

  • Thanks to Cameron Barrerney for the fascinating presentation on essential oils in November. Members and guests had a real olfactory experience!
  • The 2001 Samhain ritual was held in the church sanctuary. We had our highest attendance ever, with a nice mix of men, women and children in attendance. The setting was beautiful and the ritual, which included lighting candles for the departed, making apple chains in remembrance, and some great chanting, was very moving. Thanks to everyone who participated in organizing it--what a great group effort it was.
  • In light of the disaster on September 11, we canceled the Mabon ritual and instead held a beautiful peace ceremony. We were moved to tears more than once. Thanks to all who participated.
  • In August 2001, LOOP CUUPS member, Sue Ann Kendall, spoke at the UU Fellowship at Austin on "The History of CUUPS." She also talked about our group and paganism in general. She enjoyed the swanky setting at the Dell Jewish Community Center.
  • Our midsummer ritual in June 2001 was well attended. We blessed our pets, or our pet projects!
  • We brought out the smelly stuff in May 2001 and created our own healing oils.
  • We had a truly lovely Ostara ritual in March 2001, with green eggs, but no ham.

2000

  • Our Samhain ritual in October 2000 was well attended and enjoyed by all.
  • In January, February and April 2000 we held lovely rituals.
  • In March 2000 we had our annual homage to the Goddess Discordia!

1999

  • We made smelly (in the good sense) bath salts at our November 1999 meeting. Thanks to Shawn and Kathy for the oils they shared!
  • We built a beauteous May Pole on Beltane 1999. We even have a photo to commemorate its beauty.
